Hi on metformin 3 a day since July and started getting thirst and blurred vision again 2 weeks ago.Went to see diabetic nurse and she gave me bg monitor tested before breakfast yesterday was 17 then before dinner 28 tested again this morning before breakfast down to 12.6.She has put me on Gliclazide half a tablet in the morning and half at night.My question is this normal to go on this drug and any bad side effects?thanks
 
NICE recommend a sulforylurea, Glic) as a second therapy.

If you are still losing weight, as in your other posts, then I would ask to see your G.P. and get him to arrange some blood tests to see if you are a Type2 or LADA.

Ive been on glicazide since 2011,ive had no side effects at all,i also take 2 metformin a day.went out for lunch today (carvery) and my sugar level had peaked at 6.0 a couple of hours after eating
 
I have been on this drug 90mg for two or more years and it's been fine up to now. I have just started to take Metformin as well, one am and one pm to help get my BG near normal. I have been shall we say a little carefree with my control and diet and at the moment my readings are high. It's been a day or so since starting with The new regime and it seems to be taking time to kick in, I was expecting results overnight.
