Hi there - When I was first diagnosed my bg was very high at 28 - from that moment on I got serious but so did my doctor by prescribing Metformin and Glipizide. I stopped carbs and sugar and have pretty quickly gone down to between 5 & 7. Glipizide made me feel so rotten - my body just didn't like it at all so I have decided to stop taking it.
I understand that my doctor may well have thought she knew better, that perhaps the need to get the bg down quickly was the reason behind being prescribed that drug but I feel that with the low carb/sugar way of living I don't need Glipizide. I know its been less than three weeks but ...
Anyway, my question is this : have you made a similar decision for yourself? Thanks
