GLP1 and GCM differences?

Hi all!

Apologies if this has been discussed, tried a search and couldnt see anything.

Does anyone have any experiences with your CGM being *consistently* mis matched with your finger prick tests when on a GLP1?

I've been on Mounjaro for about 4 months now. Lost about 4 stone. It's life changing.

But there seems to be a material difference between the GCM readings and what I self test. Right now, my GCM says I'm at 2.9. My finger tells me I'm at 7.5. And I trust my blood test as I feel completely fine.

Ordinarily I'd chalk it up to a dodgy sensor and switch it out. But this is the 8th sensor I've had in those four months and it's always out (although today seems a particularly big gap, its usually only 1 or 2 points out.

My diabetic nurse is stumped and just wanted to see if anyone else out there has heard/had similar experiences?

I'm on insulin not on GLP1 medication. One or two mmol/l out is quite usual (mine always read lower than blood by about 1-2 mmol, and have done so for years), and it is within the acceptable range of accuracy.

A difference between 2.9 and 7.5 sounds like a dodgy sensor, if it doesn't get much closer very soon.

Thank you for confirming that a CGM reading that's lower than blood by about 1-2 mmol is within the acceptable range of accuracy. I don't have a finger prick monitor because when I tried it, I couldn't draw blood properly or get it to work. But hospital results were generally higher than my Libra 2 plus, mostly - not always - within your range. Now I feel more relaxed about it, looking more at the rises attributable to eating, cortisol, etc. for guidance. But if you or someone can suggest an idiot-proof monitor, I'd be grateful. I should be cross-checking.
