Not a type 1 myself but I have seen posts on here from t1s who have been put on glucophage (metformin) to help them utilize insulin better by reducing insulin resistance. Sure one will come along soo!
Yes, it's quite common for Metformin (Glucophage) to be prescribed with insulin; I have it. It helps a little bit with blood sugar reduction and from a web article I read it helps a little even if not insulin resistant possibly as it reduces glucose output from the liver as one of it's actions
Yep, I'm type 1 and been on metformin for years now. I started on the standard tablets and then moved to the modified-release version as it's kinder on the stomach/digestive system.
