The scheme is worth looking at but "double glazing" style selling undermines all confidence. Email of a few days ago says they only have free 175 meters left. Presumably, they have none left today.

Do competitors offer similar scheme without the crude marketing?

400 strips a year is only 1 a day. Seems far to little. you could tell what your level is a given time of day but not what it is before and after foods.
I can get 400 beyer contour next strips from amazon for £156, and they give free meters.

Thank you. I will have a look around for a better offer. And select a company that guarantee a free meter. Good luck to the 175 who got theirs.

You can get the new sanofi Mystar extra free direct from sanofi it can do a hba1c for you and the strips are readily available from boot for £19.99 for 50 strips and if you get vat relief it works out at £128 for 400

Type 2 diagnosed 24/01/2013.

A lot of people here use the codefree. It seems to be one of the cheapest. Not sure about the accuracy though. It seems to read lower than All my other meters. but it is consistently low so ok for trends.

Here in the States all meters must be accurate + or - 20% no mater what the cost. I've gotten free meters from Bayer, Free Style, Accu Chek and a couple of others. I've tested all of them at one time and I and then again and the readings can vary 5 to 10 points. My favorite is Relion from Walmart and strips are $10 for 50. My prescription is for accu check blue strips and they cost 8¢ per strip but limited number per month

Remember that the world wide strip business is a $11 billion recurring revenue producer. The meters are what drive the real profits
