Glucosamine

I take Glucosamine and have done so for several years. I was diagnosed T2 earlier this year and have been taking Metformin since that date. As far as I am aware there are no problems taking these medicines in tandem but will be interested if anyone has information to the contrary.

I don't take a Fish Oil supplement as I my diet has always included a high omega-3 fatty acid rich fish content and I doubt whether a Fish Oil supplement will effect your diabetes adversely.

If you've got Dupuytren's contracture then Glucosamine is not recommended. Many people with diabetes have Dupuytren's contracture.

Interesting. I didn't realise that it was Diabetes related. Good job I have no signs of that as yet but I shall stay alert to any changes in my hands as a result of your warning. Seems like anything we get wrong with us will be linked to the dang diabetes.

I've taken it for years - originally for tennis elbow. I do notice if I stop taking it.

Same here Ian. If I stop taking Glucosamine my knees lock up and my hip is really painful. I would really hate to have to stop taking it now that I am at long last successfully loosing weight and looking forward to being more active.
