I have been diagnosed for 12 years now. Hba1c is pretty good at 6.6 . I take 2000mg of slow release metformin daily. Reading threads and beefing to lose weight I have started to try and reduce my carbs. Today for lunch I had a home made prawn salad with a small amount of seafood sauce and 1 marks and spencer granary roll. 2 hours later blood lev was 9.1 . I thought I had a good lunch but I was obviously wrong. Any tips please

You would be better to ditch the roll. Try to stick with foods that have 5g or less carb per 100g.

There's a book called 'Carbs and Cals' which provides loads of info on food content.
