Hello all
Only visited here once to say hello and introduce myself, well after I thought everything was going along nicely I have just had a large kick in the teeth today, last week I went for some pre surgical tests, now this surgery is to be done under a nerve block so no problem I thought, (to release a trapped nerve in my elbow) the nurse who dealt with me rung me last night as promised to give me the results of the blood test and she told me that my glucoside levels have increased from 102 at my last HBA1C to 106 last week and not only the anaethsetist but also the surgeon (whom I get on with well after having surgery carried out by him on more than one occasion) has also expressed an unwillingness to go ahead.
Now my sugars are up and down like the proverbial, they can be as low as 6.2 for couple of months then they will rocket to 21 or higher for a few days, my treatment regime is 3 metformin and 1 glibencocide per day,I eat as healthily as I can, have even almost cut out my two pieces of fruit a day, treat carbohydrates like the black death, eat plenty of protien and salad, sadly I can not excercise very much beacuse I also suffer with severe heart failure,*in fact the diabetes was noticed about two years after my heart attack) i really do need this surgery so am very dissapointed at the news, can anyone give me any advise on what i need to do please. :?
