Gluecose Goddess Method

I have recently heard an amazing podcast by Steven Bartlett and Jessie Inchauspe ( highly recommend) and she ‘teaches’ a method of controlling blood glucose levels.
It’s a 4 week ‘course’ and I would like to more closely monitor the spikes caused by different foods to help me.
My fingers are really sore! and she recommends one of those arm monitors.
Anyone have a view on which to buy and where from?

Do you mean a Freestyle Libre or Dexcom? Both are available from the manufacturers, but nether are cheap. The libre usually has a free trial for the 1st one, and you need to download the app to a smart phone. The dexcom I don't have any experience of

Jessie is French, and all she is offering is the traditional French diet, which is Crudite, followed by a meat platter, then the sweet or dessert. In England in my youth it used to be soup followed by meat + 2 veg then pudding. But then diabetes in those days was not as rampant as it is nowadays, so it could be claimed a success. Something has triggered the modern diabetes surge, which seems to have started in the 1950's. When I visited my Grandfather-in -law in his house in Paris, some 40 years ago, I was introduced to this method which is a Breton tradition, but I was not diabetic then.

My own observation is that since the protein and fat intake is delayed some time after first bite, then this will delay the glucose response and hence one should delay the post prandial glucose reading till after the recommended 2 hours PP. A CGM might be useful to see if this effect is real or not.
