Going abroad to Tenerife with the Pump

Afternoon guys, long time no post.

I'm going away in July to Tenerife, and it'll be the first time going abroad with the T-slim & the supplies.

making sure I've got enough supplies, charger, etc is top of the list, also having my back-up MDI pens in with me in my Frio bag, should anything happen to the pump.

I'll be flying from Stanstead, and wanted to know if anyone here has experience with the scanners or security. I assume that I'll have to disconnect before going through any time of scanner. would it be wise to also not put it through the x-ray machine?

Any other tips appreciated!

My pumps and I have travelled many times through airports.
WE have never been through Stanstead and I haven't had a T-Slim.
However, the usual advice is that pumps should NOT go through the x-ray.
You do not have to disconnect it to go through the metal detector archway but if "invited" into the body scanner (the one where you have to put your hand above your head), you need to tell security about your pump. They may request you disconnect it but as patch pumps are not possible to disconnect, they (and you) may prefer to be manually "wanded". They will then swab your pump.

All of my pumps have had the option to request a "holiday loaner" pump from the manufacturer so you have a spare whilst away.
I don't know if T-Slim have this option but it is worth asking. However, if you do have a spare, do NOT put it through the x-ray

Thank you for your reply!

Noted about the X-ray machine, i'll keep it well clear of that.
I've emailed about a loaner pump, but i'll still be bringing my MDI gear just in case. Have your pumps been okay in the hot weather? I usually keep mine clipped onto my waist under my shirt (ill keep it out of direct sunlight) but obviously our weather is hit and miss in the UK so havent properly tested it out in a hot enviroment.

Yeah. No problem. They have been to hotter climes than the UK and been fine.
Like you, I keep them in the shade of my shirt.
I am not a sunbather (I like to eat lobster rather than look like one) so have never had the problem keeping my pump cool in direct sunlight.
