Hi

I have PCOS and was on 1500mg metformin due to it however it made me dizzy after 5 years so I stopped it (500mg was the same). However about a year or so later I became diabetic T2 with HBA1c of 50. so am currently diet controlled. however after visiting my gp to get blood test results re pain etc and my HBA1c had gone up. I think it was a blip

but he got talking that maybe going back on metformin but extended release as it would help both diabetes and PCOS but maybe 1 or 2 tablets a day.

Since ive had diabetes I get reactions from certain foods etc so wondering whether it would help with that too.

not really sure what to do really.

Extended release metformin is often tolerated by those who have difficulties with ordinary metformin. It is a standard medication fir PCOS and Type 2 diabetes. How is your diet?

Regards

Doug

hi
thanks for your reply.
my diet isn't brill because i mainly eat out as i have problems cooking due to another health condition in which im not safe cooking as have gassed myself and even sometimes struggle with microwave.

Hi - I have PCOS and Type II - I'm on the slow release Metformin and have never had a problem with it as long as I eat right. It certainly does help. There is no harm in trying. Good luck.
