Going back to injections for a holiday

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has experience of going on to injections for a week or so. I am going on holiday where I will be in and out of the pool/sea as well as quite a few activities. Rather than having to keep taking the pump on and off and limiting myself to an hour with it off I am planning on going to mdi for the week. So a couple of questions:
1) Did you go back to the same regime as pre-pump, same background same ratios, or did you have to fiddle with these?
2) What did you do with your pump? Just remove the battery or does this clear your settings? (accu-chek combo).
3) Just a general "what was it like?" Did you have any problems, where you worried etc?

Thanks!

Sorry Ova - only been on the pump for some 9 months and my holiday to greece last May was with pump as I felt it was too early to try and revert to injections for a week and then back to pump given that the pump rates were still being adjusted. I'm going again in September and I have to say I found the pump on the last beach holiday ok, but I understand where you're coming from in terms of swimming and activities. I just found it less stressful to keep going with the pump but maybe I'd consider switching next year to see what it's like.
Hope you find someone soon who can offer some good advice on switching back to MDI for hols.

Can't help with your questions regarding the pump, however you may find that if you do switch back to MDI that your insulin ratio's have changed, I'd start on a reduce dose and adjust as necessary to avoid hypo's.

Don't forget your can ask for advice from your diabetes team concerning this matter.
