We have a friend over from the States and are having dinner with him tonight. I've just been informed by a concerned hubby (he's worrying if I can eat Chinese, bless) that its been decided by the majority that we'll go for a chinese but I have no idea what is good/bad/dont-go-near-it.
I dont do anything fishy or anything spicy.
Any suggestions?

thanks in advance

No advice but enjoy your evening with your friend MrsMoose

i think with special occasions like these you should just try and enjoy yourself..........

the less carbs the better, so meat.........

Don't stress it, that'll raise you BG by itself.
Obvious things to avoid are rice and noodles, (I personally just have a smaller portion then I used to), but you never know what's in the sauce, so just eat a sensible portion size)
But enjoy it.

Chop Suey - Mixed Meat and Veg with beansprouts. Not really Chinese invented in Chinese takeways. Stir Fried Veg, soup

aww, you guys are great!

I think I'll take all your advisce - enjoy but try to be sensible.

Do you have a BG meter?

Have a wonderful time with your friend. It is a special occasion so enjoy it. Tomorrow is another day.

Have a word with the restaurant. They should be able to help!

Enjoy the vegetables and avoid those lovely sticky things, ( maybe not this time as it is a one of ). just enjoy. Your meter might reveal a pleasant surprise.
A glass of red wine, and water of coarse,

A glass of red wine, and water of coarse,

True, a glass of wine normally decreases the absorption of carbs, so it's medicinal.

Vodka is good. As for Chinese, it's a special occasion so I wouldn't worry too much. Eat what you fancy but leave some of the rice. Lastly, whilst everyone else drives home, you can walk haha ( only joking ).

Like others say, its a special occasion, enjoy it, but be sensible. Our chinese take away does a really nice dish that is mainly beansprouts and either chicken or duck which isn't too bad.

As far as drinks go, I always have green tea when I have a chinese, don't drink it much at other times but I do find it goes well with the food, and is meant to be good for me.

Hi all,
I had chicken sweetcorn soup to start for rolled by pork with cashew its and a little bit of boiled rice.
Oh, and a medicinal glass of wine....

It was a bit hectic from getting home, going out then getting home late so no meter readings this time. This morning the reading was 10.
