Going to dip my toes in LC - do I need armbands?

Go for it and put as much energy into it as you do your tournements and you will do great and benefit from it greatly.

I think because I am away so much in the year, I am lucky that I love cooking. I have put an end to the breeding expense receipts this week that were the bane of my life and I have my plan to survive the atrociously long hours in Singapore now
I just hope you have filtered to reflect your personal choices, or you may be gone a looooong while!

Glad to have been of (dis-)service to you................ :s

Ahem.

Sheepishly I have to admit I have only just figured this bit out. And I am still in a deeeeeeeeeep daaaaaaaark hole!

Just one question - I am SURE I am putting on weight just looking at these recipes!!!

The far east have some of the trickiest cuisines, because so much of it is based, one way or another, on sweet and sour, plus of course the MSG, which may, or may not bother you.

As a Libre user, at least you'll see the personal feedback; good bad or indifferent.

Fingers crossed for you, but at the end of the day, you can only make the best choices from what is available.

I have made it an absolute rule in my life never, ever to refuse an invitation or pass on an opportunity to go somewhere or do something because of my diabetes. I have to plan how I deal with it, or make the best choices from what's available.

I have found GF to be more of a challenge in that regard, and I'm still working through that one to be honest. Every day's a school day in that regard.

Brilliant!

I've let mine hold me back for far too long - since I was a child - and it's time I changed up a gear, frankly! Thank you for posting these words!

In the early days it wasn't always easy, but I knew if I allowed the diagnosis to impinge on how we lived our lives, it would negatively impact my PH too, and that would be supremely unfair. And anyway, as a LCer, once folks got used to the fact that I was a bit of an eccentric eater (in their view), it got much easier.

I have never asked anyone to swap anything for me. Why should they? I must admit, I never go to a function or a party starving hungry.

Good luck with it Snapsy.

'dinner after diagnosis was a chop' - don't why, but your little ditty here tickled me Resurgam. There are not many places where this would make any sense whatsoever.

OK so finally a day 'off' (well not freezing my behind off commuting for a shift!) and tonight's plan is to batch-make:
Thai sweet potato and courgette soup
Tomato soup
Cauliflower soup (I had one in the canteen the other day and it was YUM)

I am having chilli salmon and asparagus for this evening's dinner and I am making some onion, bacon and mushroom egg muffins to have for work tomorrow as I am on a late.

When I kitchen... I kitchen BIG!

I am a bad, bad person. I have used my dietary requirements as an excuse to avoid things that I don't want to attend.

But never something I have WANTED to go to. I always cheerfully 'make do' when sufficiently motivated!
