Hi guys
Thinking about joining a gym just wondering which is the best exercise to help my BSL I’m on the lchf diet but not Keto levels I try to keep my carbs below 100g. My levels are around 4.5 to 5.3 Should I go and do hiit classes or should I keep to the weights it’s all new to me I know there are plenty of you guy that go to the gym or work out. Your help would be much appreciated cheers

The best exercise is the one you enjoy the most & thus are most likely to do :)

I enjoy a mix of cardio & weights & there are benefits to both. Weightlifting helps me build muscle which is said to improve metabolism & insulin sensitivity while cardio is said to be good for the heart & cholesterol levels.

Be warned that you may see a short term increase in glucose levels from strenuous exercise - that's your body providing you with energy for the workout. Long term it should see levels reduce.

I did the induction to local gym yesterday. First session Monday. I plan to do bike and rowing. Preferably things that won’t set off the sciatica. Not entirely sure enjoyment comes 8nto it but I live in hope.

Hi Stephenm,
Muscles continue to burn fuel (blood sugar) up to 24 hours after exercise. :bookworm:
More is better when it comes to exercise its not about exertion it's about activation the more muscles you use(activate) the more benefit you will get. In it's simplest terms cycling is legs and swimming is arms and legs swimming uses more muscles.

Think of it like a Christmas Tree lots of little lights.;)
