Hi.
I've been Type 1 diabetic for about 20 years, and I've not yet picked up carb counting, so I have regular doses of bed time insulin (Lantus Solostar) and meal time insulin (Novo Rapid) pretty much since I was diagnosed.
For the last couple of weeks (give or take) I've been having an unusual number of rapid blood sugar drops in the evenings. I've been using a Freestyle Libre monitor to watch my level for about 5 months now, so I've been managing to catch it before it gets too low, but it takes an unusual amount of sugar consumption to get the level back up again.
Has anybody else been experiencing the same thing recently?
I've been wondering if perhaps my insulins have changed ingredients as such recently, making them more effective or something. It's almost as if my pancreas has decided to spring back to life after all this time, but only in the evenings.
Another possibility is that I've had toileting issues recently, wanting to be near a toilet at all times, without going into too much detail. Although I'm pretty sure this started after the unusual sugar drops, and is possibly as a result of eating the unhealthy amount of sweets, etc needed to get my sugar back up.
It doesn't seem to be as a consequence of food changes, as I tend to have the same kind of food to keep things predictable. It also doesn't seem to depend on what I've been doing, but more on the time of day (I.e. Late evenings).
