GOOD AFTERNOON/EVENING.

It's been wet and windy here today,

I had my usual 3 week catchup with my GP this morning, last week I had some blood tests taken for my pre-op, the results were now available, the Hba1c test was pretty good as its now down to 36.

Ive been kicking my heels a bit since freezing my gym membership last week, definitely suffering from a lack of motivation, I think I need to get the cross-trainer out again and go for a few long walks.

Did you have decent weather while you were away @mo53 ?
When is your op @Stallen ? And fantastic HbA1c result, well done you

Good afternoon folks. Been trying to access the forum all day but the app in both iPhone and iPad has been extremely slow and unresponsive. Any body else struggled?

@13lizanne we have had every season in the last few days. Red hot Friday and blowing a gale last night! A real mixture.

That was a bit like our last holiday @mo53 never mind, it's still a change of routine and a chance to do new things. Hope you both got a good rest?

@liam1955 I don't think one ice cream will make much difference William! It's when I eat a lot of carbs my BG is raised. My pre dinner reading tonight was 6.0 which is 0.60 to 1.1 points higher than normal for me not a huge difference. What have you been up to today?

Been trying off n on all day to get on, it's so slow you couldn't catch a cold from it.

I've only been given a preference date of before the end of June, because of various issues with the different consultants and their aspects of my current treatments, in December I was told surgery would be in March but because of my Hba1c being 59 the surgeon wasn't comfortable and didn't schedule it as he was also worried about mental health given the irreversible nature of the surgery, aslo my way out plan to use a LCHF diet and exercise to lower both weight and BGLs might stress me to much, he of little faith, because in March when I saw him next, I was 20kg lighter and had a lower Hba1c in normal range.

I also have an Anti-TNF injection every fortnight for rheumatoid arthritis which needs to be stopped 14 days before any surgery can take place and can't be resumed until any wounds are fully healed.

So last Friday was my last injection, at the pre op assessment they said all test results should be in by today 31st May and they will then organise and have a planning meeting for the surgery, lucky I've been passed fit for surgery as a day case rather than having to stay in.

So I'm basically waiting on a letter or phone call, hopefully it will be done by the end of the month, until then I'm just in a bit of limbo.

Hi Liam belated a happy birthday to you, I'm ok with the Hba1c I've not really been that strict with the diet as at the gym i was burning a lot more calories, so I'm expecting to a slip up quiet a bit in the next 3 months what with the surgery and recovery period, it's a radical bilateral orchidectomy, I've been warned given my various conditions that I may take a full six weeks to recover physically if not more, I'm certainly not looking forward to missing out my anti-TNF injections.

@liam1955 that's ok, there's a few good positives with the surgery I'll be able add to my CV and apply for any harems vacancies one door closes and a window of opportunity opens.

@liam1955 I've been watching instant gardener on bbc catch up. The first episode of the series was in York! Did you see it? Can you get catch up?

@13lizanne we were near Nottingham and then near Spurn. We both enjoyed it thank you.

@liam1955 it will be on today at 3.45 pm on bbc 1. And the Big Allotment Challenge is on BBC 2 2.15 to 3.15 but I think that might be a repeat. I gave up last night trying to use the site because it was so slow.

I gave up trying to come on the forum as well, I thought it was my tablet but thank goodness it's all sorted out now
