Hey,
Right I was diagnosed last November, hba1c 69, put on metformin for a month, changed to gliclazide 80mg, after a month went up to 160mg. Jan Hba1c at 42, so down to 80mg Glic. Just had April Hba1c and now at 34.
I'm pleased with that result. But not sure what's made the difference. I've lost 9 pounds over that time and I'm much more careful over what I eat, bmi is 26. Was diabetes just a blip for me? Though I am still on Glic so seems like I maybe still need something to make me normal.
Strange though that my waking bs is between 6-7.5, and 2 hours after food 6-16. I though the hba would have been higher. Plus after a game of rugby it goes up to around 15, though there is a big drop afterwards.
So I presume from the high bits that there is still a problem, but should I just ignore that or try and do something about it. Maybe I just have a slow response to my insulin?
