PLK here reporting my progress after 3ish months after being informed that l am type2.

My doctor went through my problems regarding my health issues and was very supportive in offering me a solution to OUR problem.

The practice has a dedicated dia nurse who was friendly but did not hold her punches in telling me what would happen to me if I did nothing to improve my health.I took my wife with me so she understood the issues and what we had to do to correct my sugar level.

You would not believe how many threads I have read on the DCUK Forum and tried to workout what changes would work for me.

I have not purchased any monitoring equipment and the dia nurse asked if I would not go down that route.

I would state that before my type 2 prognosis my liver , kidney and col levels where spot on so that might have helped my progress.

Basic Solution.

Over a 7 day period I consume no more than 14 units of booze and watch the Cals from the drink.

Cut out the vast majority of processed foods , cheese , potato's etc.

I have cut out all cream cakes but do eat biscuits from time to time.

I have three meals a day and have much smaller portions and allow myself some nuts in the evening.

I do not eat any fruit after I have had my pudding at lunch time to see if it reduces the pain in my feet.Slight improvement.

I do have some very strong pain killers for a bad back that cured the foot problem but not a long term solution.

It took me 3 months to reduce my hb1 thing from 85 to 40.

My weight went down from 105 Kgs to 95 Kgs and my wife had also lost 6 Kgs.

This is my road to a healthier life bit I am aware that if I slip up I will go down the slippery slope again.

Will keep the Forum informed as to my journey over the coming months.

Well done, it is great that you have a good team and your wife is joining in.
Remember there is always someone here to turn to.
Everyone has the odd wobble, don't let one off moment stop you from getting back to your very good routine.
85 to 40 is fab

Going from 85 to 40 is very impressive, especially as you are still eating biscuits! Are you taking any medication?

Well done, and keep up the good work.
