Hello

Can I please ask you lovely people for advice ? I did the Glucose Tolerance Test a few weeks ago at the Drs and was told I was "satisfactory". Obviously I was delighted at this but I still feel odd and rubbish and bought one of those home testing thingies. My blood sugar is always high. I did a 12 hr overnight fast and it was 7.8. Should I be concerned?

home test meter kits can be up to +-20% and pass, though you will get an average. For diagnosis you need a lab blood test, which you have had. Ask your Dr for a copy of the results. pre-diabetic is 5.5-7, diabetic is over 7 fasting
from memory the OGTT is anything over 11 and over 7.8 at 2 hrs
 
Thank you. Before the Glucose Tolerance test results were 5.1 and two hrs after the horrible sugary drink 6.3. Does that mean I should stop worrying?
