As a long term 10 or more years pre-diabetes and then type 2 I have got it finally under control and have taken my A1C from more than 11 to 5.1% in under 6 months how!, apart from a change in the meds with addition of Januvia to Metaformin, the Januvia is excellent for stability. The real change I am afraid is life style, diet that is less than 800k per day, no alchohol, no carbs that is bread/pasta other, salad, poached chicken/fish, weighed portions and a lot of walking 10 to 12k per day monitored with Jawbone UP it ap which I have to say is excellent for the food input the result is that I have dropped more than 25kg in under 6 months and have excellent liver and kidney results which I did not before and now I am starting to reduce my meds for blood pressure/sugar control.

Excellent news. I hope you manage to make the changes a true part of your lifestyle and keep your health where you want t.

Well done Lao.. it's fantastic news!

I found that by losing weight and following a low carb diet my Db nurse was absolutely amazed to find that my checks showed that I could almost be classed as non-diabetic!
