I have been diagnosed type 2 since 1998 - why didn't somebody tell me a long time ago that low carbs would change my life||?

Ihave lost 2 stone in 15 weeks by just reducing sugar, carbs, fats I am now off medication my bmi is 26 my blood pressure between 132 and 145 feel so much livelier fitter and exercise a lot - about 4 miles every day. Why didn't my medical team at my gp 's tell me about this diet - it really has changed my life. I am 67 and really thought I would gradually decline but I have changed my outlook - I do realise that I now have to keep my weight down - that is probably the hardest part of losing weight!
I have got mild retinopathy and mild kidney disease - but I will certainly be doing everything to keep it from getting worse!

would be good to hear from anyone else that has also tried this!

Quite a lot of us do Chrissy, its just that the NHS don't/won't follow something that hasn't been tried and tested!!!! Low fat has been touted for long enough for us to know it doesn't work thank Ancel Keys for that BIG mistake. But the food industry is vast and profitable - basically there's your answer.
