Hi,can any one advise me please i've just run out of Gliclazide 80mg(twice a day) and my chemist and doctors is closed i also take metformin, hospital is to far to walk to,will i be ok till tuesday or should i take an extra metformin i take 850mg twice a day i know the tablets work differantly to each other but would it help till i can get my Gliclazide, thanks, shan x

Does your doctor have an out-of-hours or emergency line? They might be able to help, they might know of other chemists that are near enough maybe. Saturday is a normal day (not a bank holiday etc) so you might find somewhere open then? Other than that I'm not sure what to suggest!

Hi shandomeda,
If you phone your G.P. there will be a recorded message to enable you to speak to someone.
The other alternative is to ring N.H.S. direct and they can advise.

Catherine.

If you have a prescription you can try any chemist on Saturday. If not, your local, where you are known can "advance" you enough to get by.
Alternatively, you could give your pancreas a rest and just cut carbs right down.
I used to take Gliclazide and don't anymore, because I've cut right back on carbs and don't need it.

I have my prescription sent to my chemist so its there ready to pick up but it's not open so i can't get it from another chemist,i'll just have to hope its open tomorrow, shan x

Hi shan,
Just been phoned up our local doctors pratice! All chemist should be open tomorow up until 11am! You should be in luck!
Here's hoping! that you can get prescription tomorrow! If not phone emergency out of hours! And explain!
i hope that you get sorted
