I posted recently that I wrote to NICE. I've got a reply, which is longish and interesting, but one point for this forum is that Guidelines on dietary advice are being upgdated.
If you want the link, Here : http://guidance.nice.org.uk/CG/WaveR/122

Anyone can follow progress. In fact, current guidelines have already been altered to recommend low GI carbs.
There are stakeholder functions in the work. The parameters on stakeholders might fit this forum.
If we have anyone who likes legal stuff, they might co-ordinate our joining.

Ps if anyone wants to see the whole answer, I'll forward it.
To me NICE and MHRA are not independent at all..never have been. I was astounded when I contacted MHRA with a fault with a CGM, and they asked the manufacturer to investigate themselves as the MHRA did not have the technical abilitys to be able to do so.
How can NICE really be independently agreeing or making decisions about medicines etc is beyond me. You only have to look at the news yesterday with the tamiflu....
However, unless Patients do notify MHRA of side effects they may have with drugs, the GP's don't.. So it will take years before better drugs and safer ones are really on the market.
