husband is type2, son is type1, and I have thyroid issue ( hyperthyroidism) since middle scool. Oh life! couldn't ask for more! Lol ;)
 
I don't have a husband or partner, but my teen was diagnosed at 7 years old with border line Thyroid and it may show it's self in teenage years, nad was diagnosed with IBS too in Junior school. I have a few medical conditions myself, adult son has quite a few,( including Sarcadosis) and receives a disability allowance and adult daughter, bone and muscle problems and recently Autism. My elderly dad, who is 91 is actually on less medications and has very few conditions !! :)just goes to show doesn't it :rolleyes: Onwards and upwards though.

Years ago I had a job where I was a type 1 diabetic, my colleague was a coeliac, and my manager had crohn's. This came up all the time as we worked in a kitchen!
 
how did you guys resist the temptations of foods in the kitchen? my husband works in one of the leading soda company and yet he doesn't drink any of their products.isn't it ironic?

They say if you work in a chocolate factory the last thing you crave is chocolate after a short while.
 
In my college days I worked in a sainsburys instore bakery. That put me off more or less all fresh breads, cakes and donuts. I think it was the smell of yeast, creaming the cakes, filling and sugaring the donuts then serving them put me off. My sister in law was the same when she worked in a chocolate factory, she couldn't stand the smell, taste and sight of chocolate for a long time.
 
I worked in a local bakery in my sixth form years as a baker. I still love cakes

Working in the pork pie and sausage roll factory really put me off those...

While technically accurate, I may have been generous with the description of 'kitchen.' We worked the 'food to go' section of a supermarket service station. Therefore it really wasn't hard to resist the temptation of what we were making!

Hi I worked at Sainsbury's too in the bakery and deli departments from 1984 for ten years, everything was tickerty boo until 1989. Did like their cakes and bread and sometimes I used to jam the doughnuts, lovely smell I can remember :)
