Got my first 3 month HBA1c results this morning

Well done Andrew! sounds like your a man with a plan and you've kicked your T2 diabetes butt well and truly into touch.
@borofergie I also wish I could introduce some tubers such as Sweet potatoes into my diet-lovely roasted with some butter and sour cream and blows the taste of normal spuds out of the water. sadly I'll have to wait until Islet cell transplants are available on the NHS I reckon

Yes I read sometime back that your pancreas learns how much insulin to release at the first stage from the previous days as it can't tell and guesses. That is one of the reasons I really don't want to be low carb although it more intuitive. I did discuss reversing with my DSN and she has had bariatric patients but have never heard of it outside of that sphere. I pointed her at Prof Taylor's research and his fend seminar.
She was really impressed and asked to keep all the papers I printed for her and was going to look into it. She said they continue diabetic monitor of bariatric patients that had diabetes for 2 years after surgery. I gave her the paper "for doctors" from prof taylor that says up to 4 years in case it isn't type 2 but some other form and she volunteered LADA/MODY etc so I was rather impressed.

I think my DSN is a switched on lady

Thanks Paul

Shame about the sweet pots I have recently discovered them (well my taste buds have) but I still can't get round eating something so sweet with my main course.

That's food pornography Paul! Stop it now!

Good luck in the Berlin marathon - now that is an inspiration. I still can't run for long or very fast

I love your story Andrew....we are all so different...
You have done really really we'll and thank you for sharing your story with us....
It is inspirational to read ...you have worked really hard...

Love your graphs....to hard for me to,understand though.....

Hi Andrew,
Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I found it most interesting and certainly an inspiration, especially how you increased your exercise, which, the more I read here, seems to be a crucial factor in reducing BS, along with managing diet, of course.
I also have spent lots of time on the computer over the past years, also playing WOW, and I suspect that sitting for long hours, rather than being active, has played a large part in the onset of my diabetes.
The way you did the graphs was great, although a little daunting for me. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. It has given me added motivation to get moving.

That is a fantastic success story. Congratulations - and you have inspired me with the graphs!

Maybe we should campaign to get a bg monitor added to the world of warcraft login, it has alot to answer for hehe

Only get a successful login when under 5.5. Lol reckon Blizz would go bust pretty fast

I am well jel! I've only lost 2 stone! What a result! Absolutely awesome! Well done! There is a glass of champers waiting for you at the virtual pub on this forum - the polar bear inn!

Thanks @Scandichic You are doing very well too. No need to be jealous you will be there soon. I will say my continued loss is much slower now (1 lb every ten days).

I just can't lose the weight quick enough. Total focus at the moment. And bs of course! 3 stone to go!

So
what if you feel like your showing off you deserve it well done

Thanks. Still working on it. My levels have nicely stabilised now even though I am eating a lot more carbs and I am down to 13 st 6 lbs. Still trying for the 12 but slower.
Hope you all have as much luck as me
