Hi

I m quite happy with the results I got . Guess what it's now 5.7. With diet control and less carbs my Hb1ac dropped from 7.8 to 5.7 in a period of only 3 months . I m so happy today. I'm only taking one metaformin tablet a day. But doctor said to continue with it. But I m just wondering if I still need to continue with it. Any advice please?

Regards

What an excellent result! Very well done. :)

We can't advise you one way or the other about your Metformin I'm afraid. The choice is yours though - not your doctor's.

Yay! Excellent work, well done.

As to the Metformin, that is your choice, my own personal view would be that if you have no trouble with the side effects then keep taking it at least for a little while. It does have benefits but I understand that wanting to give up a drug is important. Good luck.

sweet work

how long you been on one tablet for?

Let's remember that Processor Tim Noakes takes Metformin for this Type2, yet he has converted more people to LCHF then anyone else and was willing to lose his job over it. Therefore I am in no rush to come off Metformin unless I get side effects that reduce my quality of life.

(Metformin reduces the level of insulin our body needs to cope with any given "carb input", it the high insulin level rather than the high BG that does most of the long-term damage.)

3 months, one tablet a day. I still don't believe it contributed to my BG level.

hello

3 months and you have done well. I want to get off meds, I am reducing by 1 *500mg tablet a year, not in a rush and found seasonal conditions effect my results, heat/dehydration vs cold change things loads but that's me.

I would take the time to explore your new world of food with 1 tablet for a while longer and see how you feel. it is always your own choice, but don't be afraid to let your body have a bit of help.
