Doc told me I'm overweight and have to join a gym as this will help with insulin control,as insulin isn't working properly as last 2weeks bs high,,and chasing it all day, thing is iam on benefits and can't afford gym fees ,also disabled , anyone any ideas?

Have you tried walking or jogging outside, or dancing or football or cricket etc, or doing youtube exercise video at home? Those would be free

how about some good music in the ears and a daily walk for 1 hour... and some treat if blood glucose gets too low ?

Hi @tawsey,
I wonder whether you are saw-sawing between high and low Bsls with perhaps too high a dose of insulin?
High dose of insulin plus eating to defend against hypos certainly was an issue for me some time back.
There was also stress added into the mix which tended to encourage comfort eating and 'top-up' doses of insulin to allow for this.
For what it is worth I cut out lunch, except for some protein which I would take within 15 minutes of completing exercise.. That reduced the lunchtime bolus. I reduced my pump basal 20 % initially.
For exercise I would reduce my pump basal rate 10 to 30 % depending on the length and speed of activity. I invented reasons to walk to places (shops, library etc) more regularly BUT not for coffee and eats !!
I wore ankle and wrists weights (1/2 kg each), wore good shoes and a backpack to save my arms stretching with shopping loads.
Walks would be varied in route to reduce boredom, with taking phots of interesting plants etc.. Maybe I was training for a space mission ?? I hope some of the above might be of help.
I did not weigh myself but checked every week or so on the nock of my belt as a guide to how I was doing weight-wise.
