Welcome to the forums, I am sorry you have a diabetes diagnosis.
Are your test strips still in date? That is quite a high reading but it may not be accurate if your test strips are out of date.
Did your doctor give you a figure for your hba1c? (This is a measure of your blood sugar over the last 3 months and a non diabetic would be less than 48).
I am guessing that your GP will want you to come in to discuss treatment options. Depending on your hba1c levels he/she may or may not want you to start medication.
There are plenty of T2s on these forums to give you advice and moral support but I think your first action should be to make an appointment with your GP. Many of the T2s on here have achieved significant reductions in blood glucose levels by reducing the carbohydrate in their diet, so that may be an option for you to consider.
