Does anyone use Gram flour for cooking and how high it is in carbs. I did read somewhere that it is better alternative to wheat flour for diabetics

I have used gram flour a lot, I have been only diagnosed with diabetes 2 weeks ago but since I am indian I am looking to replace my chapati's or naan with something, so I looked at all the available wheat flour available and found wholemeal brown flour has least carbs and with gram flour its at about 50 to 52g per 100g, on the weekend I made a pancake out of gram flour and my sugar level did not shoot up so i think it is ok, but I would suggest eat and test and see how you react to it.

It is around 57 g of carbs per 100 g ,with 10 g of fiber. Not low carb at all. I use almond flour or coconut flour , if you can tolerate the taste try flax seed flour.
