Being a real Grapefruit lover .
Not on statins so is safe for me to eat .
Unfortunately if taking/using certain statins grapefruit
isn't compatible and can destroy the effectiveness of them .

In the paper yesterday - there was a really interesting feature article
daily express page 24 .
about Grapefruit juice has very successfully lowered mice BG levels
So successfully - they are going to look much deeper into this !
It was performing on the same scale as the metformin medication .

Was thrilled to read this as I do LOVE the taste of grapefruit immensely :joyful:
Must admit my BG levels have and do remain low when have eaten grapefruit too .
Always below an 8 range - never spikes me at all :D
So guess who ? is off to buy in more grapefruit .

I also love anything bright yellow .
It is my favourite colour ( has been since young )

Love this avatar actually!
Its a great one - thanks Andrew .

Thanks Catherine - have read through it again
Yesterdays copy went to the tip this morning !

I love eating slice's of lemon in a cool drink .
My father does same 'thing n habit' of this too .
Could be a family thing? as his sister did the same also .

Grapefruit's can be an acquired taste for some people .
I can handle the sharpness of it easily without need for
anything to sweeten them .
As the article says it isn't a popular fruit as can be
quite bitter for peoples taste buds .

I was advised not to eat grapefruit because I take tablets for blood pressure.

yellow - my favourite as well. I have 3 times as many yellow T-shirts than all other colours, even my network cables are yellow.

often wear yellow with black .
yellow network cables too? :wideyed: WOW

thinking things through my favourite fruits are ALL
yellow too .
Grapefruit , honeydew melon , lemon slices ,
banana's though these must be well under ripe !
Taste is sharper and the fruit is more acidic when under ripe.

Even with tomatoes I am the lady you will find hunting for the
well under ripened yellow/greeny tomatoes out .

There are quite a few medications that react to grapefruit.

This article from the NHS lists them and also considers the report into grapefruit.
Grapefruit juice and medication
Grapefruit juice has been known to increase the levels of medication in the blood, which can be potentially dangerous.

Some of the medicines affected arestatins, amiodarone (for irregular heartbeats), Viagra (sildenafil),sertraline, diazepam and calcium channel blockers.

If you are considering adding grapefruit juice to your diet, you should first read the patient information leaflet of any medication you are currently taking.
