I am currently using an Omni Pod pump and have difficulty reading the screen in sunlight. I spend a fair amount of time outdoors and this can be a big problem, mainly the worry of over bolusing or the inability to correctly read blood glucose results.
I contacted Ypsomed's helpline and they suggested replacing the PDM with a new one in case the screen had lost some of its contrast (just over 1 year old). They have kindly done this free of charge and whilst perhaps being marginally better the problem still very much exists.
Before the Omni Pod I was using an Animas Vibe and the screen was equally as difficult to read in sunlight.
Anyone else had this problem? and if so any tips most appreciated. Sometimes it can be very difficult to find a suitable spot in the shade.
Seems odd when you can buy a Kindle which you can read with ease in bright sunlight but a vital medical device like this doesn't appear to come with the same feature.
