Hello there,
Please forgive my method of approach, my name is Michelle Genovese. I am running in the BUPA Great South Run, in Portsmouth on the 24th October 2010 and I am asking people if they would sponsor me, as I am raising money for the JDRF – the Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation.
Why I am running for the JDRF? This is because on the 21st of August 2009, my youngest daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. This was a complete shock – to say the very least! My daughter went from a healthy, happy, six year old little girl, to a little girl who needs a minimum of four injections a day to stay alive.
I felt completely helpless then, and sometimes I still feel that way, but with the help and support of the diabetic team at the Southampton General Hospital, and the help that the JDRF have given, we manage to get through. Ok it is still day by day, but the one thing that the JDRF give, is hope, hope of a cure.
I have set up an online giving account at just giving, the website address is -

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
Thanks again……
