Just a quick line to say hello. My name is Clive and I live with my wife and brother in law in a small village in eastern Cyprus. I have had type 2 diabetes for 17 years, and since being diagnosed I have had some health problems including heart attack(s) and prostrate cancer - but I'm still happy and enjoying life!! My doctors here in Cyprus have now advised me that I should change from oral medication control to insulin as my stats are a bit on the high side. It's not something I am looking forward to and would appreciate any comments from members who have gone through this change.
One of the drawbacks of living in Cyprus is that the doctors here, by and large, do not have a full control of english and sometimes I wonder if they have really understood what I have been telling them. However, for the most part, the medical treatment here is second to none, and in some cases is better than, for example, the UK. Here it is possible to see a GP at the hospital in the morning and then see a specialist the same day.
I look forward to making a full contribution to the forum, and wish everyone a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
