Apologies in advance for being a bit soppy with this post.

I have been feeling a bit down today and have been having a good read around the forum...once again I'm overwhelmed at the level of support that we all offer here...to the newly diagnosed...the old hands...EVERYONE and the effect that we can have on peoples lives. I know the effect this site has had on my diabetes control since coming here...the knowledge...advice and just knowing that there is somewhere to turn has been invaluable to me and while I don't always post all that regularly...I pop in every day...just because I can...and in some small way it makes me feel normal again...I'm so glad I found this place.

Sending out a big hug to everyone as a thank you for all your support...and for just being there x

Hey @Natalie1974

Just to let you know, someone is here, reading, and replying.

I don't think you are being soppy. Think we all have moments when we feel down, and if we can get support and give support, then forum is working as it should.

I have a bit of an aversion to cyber hugs, but happy to give you one of those teddy bear symbol thingies. and a big tick to agree. As only one each of those is allowed, you get a teddy from me. Even though I agree. :);)

In the wee small hours of the night, it is good to know there is another person who knows what you are going through.
Virtual hug to you

and returned @Natalie1974 :)

The very least you deserve as I'm sure like most of us know, you've been an immense support to others.

Mike :)

Sending you a big hug Natalie x

not soppy at all young lady !!! this forum is tremendous ! - as you are in your great support of people!

(if the forum were a woman I think my wife would be ready to accuse me of having an affair with it :D:D:D )

Thank you for what you contribute Natalie, I'm adding my hug to the others. Someone wise once said " its in helping others that we receive help ourselves"

Yes Natalie thanks so much for what you do here, and just for being you. You tagged me into a thread yesterday, to my shame I had already seen it and ignored it having been put off by criticisms of my posts on another thread. Thanks for the prod and encouragement you gave me to try again. :) I don't suppose you even knew you were helping me as well as the OP! Now you do. :)

Nice thread @Natalie1974 :)

The forum really is a great place for help, support and comfort, long may it continue.......

Glad to be help...whether knowingly or otherwise ;)

I've been put off by people before...it's not a nice feeling...but from what I've read of your posts...your advice is generally very balanced and honest...hence the reason I tagged you. Keep up the good work and don't let them get you down :)

One of my favourite words is 'cwtch' (a Welsh hug), there's nothing better than giving and receiving them. Cwtches all round. xx

Hey Natalie. Just seen your original post and I don't think you are being soppy at all. After a while I realised that even friends and dare I say it family were " burned out " with my diagnosis.Or rather my need to learn, talk and try to wrestle some level of control.
This forum is absolutely invaluable to me.So much support, knowledge and just kindness from people who really do understand.
Your contributions are always well informed and positive, and I try to do the same when I offer an opinion.

Exactly what a forum like this needs.

We all need a hug sometime.
