I'm grumpy because I find it hard to lose weight even though I watch all food like a hawk and take good amounts of exercise - fitness pal, Garmin vivofit, cycling, walking. Hoping that a low carb 1500 calories per day diet will show some real impact soon.
How long have you been on low carb? It takes a little while for it to kick in, don't give in. If you are using My fitness pal that's a great start. Keep going
I would rather count the carbs rather than the calories.
If you know how much food you are eating and if you know how much energy you are using, then because your glucose and insulin resistance is to high, losing weight is difficult. You could be eating too many gms of carbs.
But if you are only new to this, then you do need time for low carb to work.

Calories mean zero to me, carbs carrying low GI to high GI and daily quantity. Then the other thing I might look at depending on food is fat, I don't really want to consume anything with loads of saturated fat or salt.
