Guilty for being ill...

This is so true. Thank you. I think I just feel a burden on my bf, as he has to come back from work, clean, cook... I just feel so silly laying down or sleeping whilst he's getting so stressed! Haha

That's brilliant, I'm happy for you! I have been resting today. I think sometimes people without diabetes just think you put it on haha

@Chloesnavy just wanted to say hi again and how lovely it is to come back onto this thread and hearing you sounding much more chipper!

People will and do understand that you're not very well right now. It will clear up eventually, really it will. So hang tight and do exactly what you're doing - which is resting, and healing, and getting better!

I understand how you feel.
But the way I look at it is a relationship is give and take. Right now your unwell and part of loving you is being supportive when you need help. That means doing extras around the house. So you have to take right now
When someday he's not well even if it's just a cold or being over worked you can do the extras.
I am so fortunate that Mr Hotpepper never complained when I was unwell.
I'm good now but he isn't very mobile so it means I need to do more. That's life and one has to just go on living it they best we can.

My daughter wasn't diabetic but had reflux in her kidney. She had been on trimethoprim antibiotic for 12 weeks. My dad who was a well known doctor told ne to try giving 1/4 of redoxon effervescent vitamin C - he said it makes the bacteria fall to the bottom of the bladder ready for flushing away - it has worked. She was 21/2 yrs old at the time. Another friend who is plagued with cystitis takes a tablet every morning and has not had an infection for 7 years now. Again I don't know if this treatment is beneficial to diabetics.

I inherited a. cup from my best friend which has a motto which says «A woman's work is never done ,why bother ! » and on the inside it says «Life is too short to iron pants »
Take care of yourself !

Sometimes we need to invest in ourselves to get better. Much as we might want to ignore these things (especially if there's no rash, bandage or other visible sign), it doesn't make sense if something is lingering.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hahaha thanks! I am definitely slowly feeling better, unfortunately the antibiotics I'm on make me feel ill, but it's worth it! Sick of this stupid kidney infection now. I did manage to do some housework today, but made my bf do most of it, without feeling guilty

That is true, thank you. I think it's all just mainly in my head to be honest. I did a little housework today, but made him do most of it... and he didn't moan!
I'm back on my bed now feeling sorry for myself with some tea.
Yes, exactly. Take life as it comes

Ahhh that's really interesting! I've never heard of this method before, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for diabetics too. I definitely need to do something. I'll give this a try, thank you

Thank you so much. Here's hoping these will actually work for me

You can't help being ill. Think of it positively - you resting will help you get back to health sooner and be able to help round the house

You're being sensible not lazy
I also agree with you, Azure. Though it isn't easy not to feel guilty about not having the energy to help around the house. a few months ago, I had this bad cough and cold for a week and couldn't do any shopping or cooking for one or two days, and had to send my nephew out shopping for me. He didn't mind doing the shopping, yet I minded not being able to do it. Anyway, don't feel guilty, Chloesnavy. Take that time out and get better.

Same situation... I got really emotional.. I also got a kidney infection for 10 weeks and I just felt so sad but now you know what? I feel strong because I could overcome it
