I found guinea fowl on offer at my local sainsbury's (3.99 for the bird), thought to try it for a change. Never tasted it so am giving it a go!

I feel guilty eating Guinea fowl, becauae they are so pretty. They taste good though. I can't eat duck or rabbit either. I suppose I could if I were hungry.

I remember guinea fowl from when I was young. They used to sit on the fence making a noise like a swinging rusty gate.Taste good IIRC,long time since I've tasted one!!

Never tried guinea fowl..

love duck, tried rabbit but dont think much of the taste to be honest, so your not missing much in the rabbit hana... but duck.... hmm love the duck!!!

Oh, just had the fowl for dinner and it was delicious! Roasted it with some onions, carrots and sweet potatoes and made the juices into a sauce with a splash of cream and sliced leeks. Absolutely gorgeous!!! It is a pretty bird, but gosh, in my mind the flavour wins...

Hi all,

I love goose, duck & pheasant, anything you can shoot really. Had a pinkfoot goose over the weekend. Little thing had flown all the way from Iceland and then got shot near Morecambe by a friend. Wild goose has just NO fat, not like the farm bred ones. In Leeds a year or two ago Leeds Council did a cull of Canada geese and disposed of the bodies, I think by burning. What a waste of good food !

I could eat guniea fowl easily, neighbours had some and they were incredibly brainless. Eating them would out them out of their misery.

They used to wander into our garden in a flock and attack my bootlaces

I'm an old country boy, eating game and other animals has never fazed me. Mostly they have a good life and a comparatively quick death, and ****! they taste good and have excellent lipids

Ha I remember brainless!!Used to sit on the gate and not even move when you tried to open it!!No sport in catching them, you just picked one up!
