Been this morning to get the rsults of my HBA1c from diabetic clinic and it's gone up from 6.3 to 7.3. :shock: :shock: Also i've always had good blood pressure but now all of a sudden it's very high (no wonder i've had really bad headaches recently). Don't know much about blood pressure but mine is 185/95. They did it over a 90 minute period and it still stayed up, so now they're going to put me on "Ramipril" whatever that is. I've worked so hard to try and do everything right and keep myself in check and now i feel i've been kicked in the teeth. :cry: :cry:

So it's not been a good day at all and i've got to go for my eye test later today so i'm not overly optimistic about that either. :| :|

But you've had it at 6.3 before, so you can do it again! If anything, news like this should help to refocus you -- it looks like it already has! Now is the perfect time to catch a new stride.

Sorry about the HbA1c, that's a disappointment!
That Blood pressure is VERY high and quite dangerous. Normal maximum is about 130/80 and they like diabetics to be even lower.

I'm sorry that your A1c was higher than expected. That probably didn't help your blood pressure, from experience, waiting 'calmly' for the next blood pressure reading adds to the stress and sends it even higher.
Ramipril, it is an ACE inhibitor which as well as being a BP medication is also thought to help protect the kidneys. It is often prescribed for that reason, even when BP is normal. One problem is that sometimes people develop a cough. If that happens the docs can change it for another, similar drug.
I hope amongst this, you had time to discuss your hypos, and insulin dosage.

Dont fret over the blood pressure Hazey, that will make it higher,take it from one who knows.
Medication for high blood pressure is a very long list and it is trial and eror in finding something that suits you. My bs readings were always high when my blood pressure was soaring. Your readings are nowhere near as high as I have had in the past . It can be sorted.

Thanks for the replies folks. Had a sleep and feel a bit better now. Had eye test and everything is ok just need a change of specs which i knew i might have to anyway. If i'm lucky it might just have been "white coat syndrome" but i know it wasn't as i don't stressed over things like that.

sorry to hear about your test! You have proved that you can do it once! I am sure that you can do it a second time! :D
Just take it easy and i am sure that you will do it again! Spring is here! And lovely weather outside! Makes all the problems seem alot better with a bit of sun!
