H.i sugar level what to do.

I am type one I have woke up to pee and get a drink I checked my sugar it is hi on the screen I checked my ketone via blood and they are 0,4 I am on novomix 30 insulin so it's slow and fast so unsure what to do.. I don't know how it has went so high I have only eat dinner wich was a micro cheeseburger.. I have no gas as I have been sanctioned so could the coldness contribute to high sugar levels as it's - 1 here
 
ring nhs 24/7...
my understanding is below 0.6 is normal for ketones..
you may need to inject more mix or a fast action if you have one..the nhs 24/7 will advise dose

do you have sickday rules? you could use those if the nhs say it's ok
.if you haven't any, ask your dr for rules ..for next time

How are you this morning, did NHS 24/7 help a lot?
are your ketones still low..at negative or trace levels <0.6 ?

are you going to contact your Dr/nurse and tell them what is happening
 
Hi. It can be difficult with mixed insulin to know what to do but a small additional unit or two if your bs is that high might be the right action but seek advice as always. Have you considered going onto the Basal/Bolus regime which is the most common for T1s? It involves more injections but gives you better control. I wouldn't have thought the temperature would have had much effect!
 


No it's unlikely to be the cold, best that you get yourself some medical assistance if your bg levels are still high.
 
Hi I done 30unitd of insulin and woke up in morning with low sugar I have been on the separate insulin 5x a day but they changed it weirdly xx
 
It has shot back up I don't get what is causing it now I have 1.8 ketone x

You need to seek medical advice, don't put things off as you ketone levels are high.
