Hello
I have a family history of Type 2 diabetes, my father, grandmother and 2 siblings all had or have this. They all started in late 30s or early 40's. I'm 48 and have an H1bac test every year for the last 3-4 years (37,37,37 and December 2020 - 38 mmol).
Over the last few weeks I have been having symptoms - increased thirst (esp at night), hunger, more frequent urination. I have been waiting 2-3 weeks for another test (I guess covid delays), and it is booked in for next week. In the meantime I am also waiting for results of a urine test.
However, I thought that diabetes in general came on relatively gradually. Is is possible that I could go from H1bac 38 to diabetic in one year? My lifestyle is average and has not changed dramatically this year, although I have had significant stress due to a bereavement.
Many thanks in advance.
