...it came back 6.9mmol fasting and 10.5mmol after 2 hours.
I've been diagnosed prediabetic for 2 years now and view these results as a real wake up call to get my life in order and try to reduce the readings.
I'm a 38 year old HGV driver with a diet controlled type 2 Dad and a sadly gone type 2 maternal Grandad.
I stand at 6'2" with a 42" waist and weigh just over 16 stones.
My cholestrol has fallen from 7.0 to 6.0 from first diagnosed 12 months ago.
I'm conscious that I need to get fit and healthy and I'm determined to do so.
Does anybody have any inspirational stories of "turning it around" and reducing fasting readings within a fairly short period of time?
I've just recently done my push bike up and aim to get out and about on it in an effort to shift hopefully about 2 stones in weight.
Thanks for reading,
Paul.
P.S. I've posted in two seperate forum sections (i.e. prediabetes also) to generate as wide a response as poss. Thanks

Being a hgv driver, I imagine that you would lead a sedentary life.....much of the time.
If this is the case, then I would aim to reduce your calorie input to about 1200 a day.
This may seem difficult, without starving.
It isn't.
I live on tuna, eggs, chicken, fish ( other than tuna), ham, corned beef, rocket and cos lettuce, steak and lamb.
I began m own weight loss just before new year, exercise moderately ( not every day and hardly pushed myself) and have lost 2 stone with not feeling hungry once.
Sure, I've pigged out from time to time...felt guilty...then forgot about it.
Look to also reduce your carb input.
I have a full tortilla a day, sometimes 2.
This comes in at 60g a day.
Whilst 100g of tortilla will typically have a higher carb and calorie fig than white bread, imagine how many slices you would need to envelope a full tin of tuna, or 6 slices of corned beef.
Funnily enough, my figs on tests are lower than yours and have been classed as type 2 ( meds were my decision and I opted for metformin). Please take the hba1c test, this will give you a clearer picture..as most people can cheat the fasting glucose test.
I wish you all the best if luck with your efforts!
A tortilla will easily do this and whilst it may resemble a Swiss roll, it is probably no more than 400 calories and 30g of carb.
