I have just received my report back from Bluecrest Health Screening, it actually reads quite well apart from my Glucose levels are above what they should be at 6.1 mmol/L. I have spoken to a friend who was in the same boat and they have suggested the South Beach Diet... I wonder if anyone here has been on this diet and what results they have had? I understand this diet was created/invented by a doctor and is good for lowering blood sugar levels.

6.1 isnt really a high reading, especially if you had eaten within the previous 2 hours or so of the test, I shouldnt worry about a single high reading unless it was in double figures in which case it might be worth retesting.

So basically dont stress yourself a single reading of 6.1 does not indicate anything at all.

Thanks Sid, I am not too worried as I think I am only just over based on the fact I was fasting. However I just thought it was a good idea to lower the amount of sugar I consume, I certainly wouldn't want it to get any worse. Someone had suggested the South Beach, Low-carb, Low sugar, diet and having seen quite a big forum about similar stuff here just wondered if anyone had been on it and what their thoughts were about it.
