Hi everybody before I start for some reason I had trouble logging into my old account and was otherwise known as sugar pie
I just wanted to let you all know that on the 22 dec 2014 I received the biggest gift from an unknown donor. All went remarkably well and I had a very short stay in hospital, 10 days. Things have continued to improve each day. My blood sugars are fantastic, a few blips but I'm still learning. I often wake up with a bs of 4.5 and go to bed with a bs of anything between 4 and 7. I have found out that pizza is a no no as I ended up going t 12.6, but to be honest I'm not a huge pizza fan. I still have the staples in my torso (40 approx.) and hopefully they will be taken out next week. Life seems totally different now. No more pumping and no more peritoneal dialysis. I finally feel happy in myself and life is looking good. I can honestly say I am looking forward to coming off benefits and going back to work. All I need to do is get used to the low blood pressure and wait for my body to get used to the tablets which have unpleasant side effects, but hey ho! My stomach is still tender but definitely bearable, throughout my whole time I was never in pain and I'm a real baby. I had the most amazing xmas and new year in hospital all thanks to the most wonderful and amazing nhs doctors and nurses. I will never ever be able to thank the donor or his family and even if I could thanks doesn't seem enough. All I know is that the donor has given me back my life and for that I will be eternally grateful
