Hello!

I've been diabetic for many years and have come across this site a couple of times during my many years of being net savvy, yet only now I have just signed up! Better now than never, eh?

Nice to be here! This site has a nice friendly and helpful feel which is delightful and refreshing!
I look forward to spending some time on here in future, helping others out and what not!

Random facts about me:
~ Diagnosed at 5 years of age - Have been diabetic for around 21 years.
~ I graduated from the DAFNE course on the 3rd April 2009 (I've found the DAFNE regime to be a very welcome change to my life. I simply cannot see myself going back to my old ways now. I think it's a shame I could not have had it sooner in my life).
~ I honestly thought for a very long time that I'd never drive thanks to my diabetes but I have passed my car driving test this year to prove my long held belief wrong! I am also a motorbiker! Yay!
~ I have been to Japan twice and I'm currently learning Japanese! Yay!

For those wondering: Hajimemashite means "Nice to meet you" in Japanese when greeting someone for the first time. :)

Take care all, thanks for taking your time to read my silly greetings thread and see ya around the forum! Have fun!

Hi Otenba and welcome to the forum :) Your experience with diabetes will be valuable to other members of the forum who are just starting to feel their way around. Does your avatar mean Hajimemashite? I look forward to reading your posts (those that aren't in Japanese of course  ).

Thanks for the warm welcome daisy1!

Haha, nice thinking! :) My avatar actually says "buta" which means "pig". Pig strangely is a family nickname of mine and no one knows why they call me it but it's stuck regardless! I wasn't sure what to use as my avatar so I'll use that kanji for now. ^_^; My username means "tomboy" because I am one! <3

Cool that you're from Switzerland - I went to Geneva for a weekend sometime last year - absolutely gorgeous place to visit!
