Has another supermarket ditched the Low Carb bread option?

I have been a weekly buyer of Hi-Lo from Sainsbury's in Cheshire Oaks since I moved here a couple of years ago but in recent weeks there has been no sign of it. I asked one of the shelf-stackers who said the label on the shelf appears to have been removed and that a number of customers have been asking about it. Customer service weren't much help. I recall Waitrose dumping its product a few months ago. At a time of growing demand for these products why are they doing this? And why can't you get a straight answer from staff? Go to America and you have lots of choice including place slike Aldi. Yesterday I got some stuff from Holland and Barrett and it was £1 a slice! So I'm wondering if its just particular outlets of Sainsbury's that have sarted making life difficult. I also tried the makers but the website address on the packaging does not exist and the phone line is dodgy. The plot thickens.20250127_134405.jpg

I think it's weird to take a popular healthy product off the shelves, especially when the demand for low-carb is only growing.

I think you may be right. It no longer comes up on their online search

I asked in Sainsburys supermarket in Sheffield and was told that they no longer sell it.What a shame.

It flew off the shelves in my local store. Still waiting for an explanation from the customer services person who was clearly at home with the telly on.

Morrison's do a multi grain thick cut at 16.7 per slice which tastes good and is not too bad carb wise.

I’ve never been able to find it in my local Sainsbury. I buy from SRSLY, it’s not cheap, fortunately I don’t eat much of it so it last for ages (in the freezer).

Looks like there are NO low carb bread options on ANY supermarket shelves at all now.

HiLo (Sainsburys) and LivLife (Waitrose) been de-listed in recent months.

So annoying, as the high fibre / high protein options have stopped working for me in recent weeks and I've had to stop eating them as my BG stays too high for too long. Could get away with it a few months ago but not now.

Only option is to order something like HeyLo online at 3-4 times the cost (before P&P) of the Tesco high fibre seeded I could get away with before, but not now.

Have you thought about making your own low carb bread? I make my gluten free bread because the bought stuff here in Canada is very expensive and tastes like cardboard.
All you need is a bread machine. Put all the ingredients in and set it to run over night. The hardest bit is buying the ingredients, which I'm assuming will be almond flour. There are lots of bread machine low carb recipes online.

My local Asda stocks Schneider "Protein Bread" which is more like a german pumpernickel which is 7.9g per 100g Carbs
