Hey Peeps,
Has anyone else had a call from the OneTouch Customer Care team recently ?

I got one today apparently I have to upgrade my one touch ultra before may next year as they are going to stop making the strips due to some new ISO.

Has anyone else heard of this or can give me some advice please.
 
My DSN upgraded my One Touch meter as its accuracy was +or - 20% whereas the new required level is +or- 15%. This is why they will stop making your strips.

oh I see is there anything I read on the internet about this ? as I love my One Touch and don't want to move
 
I can't find anything online (I'm not very good with computers!) But there have been various posts about it on the forum (I couldn't find those either!)

I changed from the One Touch Easy to One Touch Verio IQ. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to recharge it. The One Touch Verio is quite similar but has a battery (AA I think). It is also heavier than the IQ.

Currently blood glucose meters need to meet the system accuracy standards of 2003 (ISO: 15197:2003).

Blood glucose monitor manufacturers must ensure their blood glucose meters meet the 2013 accuracy standards by the end of May 2016.

Use a OneTouch Ultra or OneTouch Vita?
Users of the following meters are eligible to receive a free upgrade for their blood glucose meter (subject to terms and conditions). People using the following blood glucose meters can upgrade to a OneTouch Verio or OneTouch Verio IQ:

  • OneTouch Ultra2
  • OneTouch UltraEasy
  • OneTouch UltraSmart or
  • OneTouch Vita
If you use any of the OneTouch meters listed above, click here to upgrade.
