I think there are as many variations on LCHF as there are people doing it so maybe some info on what you are eating and how many carbs you consume might be helpful. I recently had a bit of a plateau but hopefully have started downwards again.. like some others I fast intermittently usually in about 40 hour stretches although sometimes longer which seems to help with weight loss..Morning all,
I'm just curious as to if anyone else has experienced a weight gain on LCHF? I love the way of eating and am getting my best BG levels in ages ( since I last did LCHF), but, in the first 3 weeks I gained 3 kg. Now, my weight generally fluctuates by a kg no matter how I eat so this is odd. I don't count calories but equally I don't think I'm eating as much as I did, in fact I find I'm just not as hungry so eat fewer meals overall. I drink 3 lites of water a day minimum too. I guess I will have to monitor calories on MFP just to get an indicator but was curious abiout others experiences?
The LCHF way appealed as calorie counting never works for me as I loose interest. I'm more interested in the BGs, but really want to drop some weight too as I know that also helps my levels.

I agree portion size is important, @Mep . Fats like cream, butter, cheese, etc do have high calorific value, and the taste would make me want to overindulge.I haven't done the LCHF for a while.... but yes I did gain on it. I think it would be very much to do with portion sizes though and with that diet you would eat more fat than normal to fill your stomach. As for fasting I am not a fan of that myself as that just encourages my metabolism to slow down and then I store more fat if I eat again. I prove that every time I've fasted at all in the past. Maybe it works for some.... but science is that the body is designed to store your fat if you're not feeding it. So no matter what your diet really I think the most important thing to get right is the portion size which would help with the weight and sugar levels. Getting it right and working for you is another thing. I wish you the best.
