soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Just been to the hospital renal clinic with T1. Kidneys aare stable, Iron is up, but will need treatment with EPO, to improve the aneamia. Consultant said that most recent Hba1c at 7% is excellent and there's no advantage to improving on it. I said I'd read the ACCORD study and it's been discredited and he said there are others that have found the same thing. I haven't seen them. Has anyone?

There was another study on poorly controlled veterans with heart problems which also found they keeled over early with intensive treatment, but as Jenny among others pointed out probably a common factor was the use of Actos/Avandia.

A more recent metastudy backs up the DCCT and UKPDS in demonstrating the same kind of increasing threat with increasing A1c but I expect his accountant will tell him to ignore that one.

I'd need to do some digging to refind them. AFAICR neither paper is available unpaid for.
