I thought it was my iPad playing up too. If you scroll down to the bottom and click on full version it will come back as before. It is for mobile users and is default when you log on with a mobile. Click the keep me logged in button next time you log in. Personally, on an iPad, I prefer the usual version.
Oh I just love it when yet another developer thinks he knows better than me how I like to use my computer (or, here, iPad).
On a more serious note, switching to the classical version isn't permanent (you have to remember to add the nomobile=1 parameter every time you type the address); which is perhaps not surprising since the new version is served on a per-device basis whilst user settings are (obviously) pet-user.
Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
As a developer I wouldn't have thought it would have presented a problem to you AMB
Personally I think it should be applauded that improvements are being made for those who like to visit the forum via their Smartphones and iScams
I have an iPad and I went straight back to the old system. The new one doesn't help me. I can read everything perfectly well (read "better") on the iPad. But I appreciate that it is much better for some people depending on what they use. When it went over my iPad changed but my other computer stayed the same so I thought my iPad was kaput  when I compared the two.

Its the different operating systems used in phones and tablets Daisy, the forum identifies the operating system and if its a mobile system it loads a different version of the forum. I assume thats what it does anyway
I just saved the full view into my bookmarks and now it's opening in my preferred format every time. Not sure if it will still rever back if I log in on my iPhone next and then my iPad. The iCloud is giving us sme problems
